A wall decorated with colorful wings made out of old toys remains a silent symbol of a happy childhood at Kibbutz Kfar Aza
The original 'Wings of Hope' was created in July 2023 by Livnat Kutz Z"L and members of Kibbutz Kfar Aza, located in southern Israel.
The exhibit is a piece of artwork made from old plastic toys collected by the community. These toys were assembled into wings on the wall of a shelter in Kfar Aza, symbolizing the values of sustainability, creativity, and a sense of optimistic community belonging—values that Livnat Z"L and her special family embodied. Tragically, they were brutally murdered in their home by Hamas during the October 7th attack.
In our vision, 'Wings of Hope' will be replicated throughout Israel and around the world, commemorating Livnat's deep dedication to community and resilience, ensuring her memory lives on.
These magnificent wings serve as a gathering place for creation, arts and crafts, and as a testament to a connected community. They shine a light that reaches beyond the borders of the kibbutz and Israel.
Together, we can spark a new movement of creativity, art, and community, one that will impact future generations and keep the memory of the late Livnat Kutz alive in the hearts of both the Israeli and international art communities.
THE STORY OF LIVNAT AND THE LATE KUTZ FAMILY
The unique story of the Western Negev is interwoven with the stories of the families who chose to settle in the southern region located near the Gaza Strip. Thus, the story of Livnat and Aviv Kutz, and their three beloved children: 18-year-old Rotem, 16-year old Yonatan, and 14-year-old Yiftach, illuminates the lives that were extinguished at Kibbutz Kfar Azza on October 7, 2023.
A family full of laughter, hope, action, art, and community, each in their own space, brought light to the fabric of family and community life, creating a worthy center of life and unforgettable love for the community of Kfar Azza and surrounding communities.
Despite the routine rocket fire and incessant attacks on Kibbutz Kfar Azza, the Kutz family remained steadfast in their hope and belief in peace until that Saturday morning, October 7, when the five family members woke up to the inferno of the horrific murderous attacks by Hamas terrorists who murdered them in their home, which they finished building only four years before.
